The return on a 4x25% split of those four for the last 24 months has been a paltry 5.2% including interest and dividends.

This is probably very close to the worst 2-year performance in 42 years.

Not that the past is indicative of the future, but this looks like the worst since 2000-2001 and slightly worse that '83-'84.

The following years were 7.2 and 20.2 respectively.
