Ahh okay. I knew about the people eating, just thought we were on an energy topic and we spoke about billions of gallons of oil vs. population. I was thinking with all of these people, you could eat them, or make them into a nice fuel. Either way, human farming is an unethical but interesting idea.

On a completely different note. For either of the admins, after someone gets 150 posts, what's there to do for all of the executives to reach for? You could put a ridiculously high 6th star for those that hit 10,000 posts. Then you'd really get pointless posts getting posted to hit those marks!

Well, here's the deal: In Soylent Green Heston's character made a shocking discovery when he realized that it was other people who were keeping the remaining people alive.  Similarly, I might suggest that our entire society and ability to feed a population of 7 or 8 billion people is almost completely dependent upon access to a certain "flow rate" of fossil fuels (price is irrelevant when you are talking about geological limitations on how quickly fossil fuels can be extracted from the earth--at a certain point is becomes impossible to increase production at any price and that is what peak oil is all about).  Thus, in many ways you might think of today's urban dwelling high consuming human being as essentially a fossil fuel product himself.  Everything that sustains him is basically a product of fossil fuels, and, in a sense, he is "made" of fossil fuels.

It sounds like you would like some sort of additional title.

How would "Tribal Chief Executive Member" be?
Q: “Do you have funny shaped balloons?”
A: “Not unless round is funny.”

That's true. Humans are a product of environment. Take away the fossil fuels might lower birthrates then. Same as how I'm guessing the recession will have made families wait longer to have children so delaying as a result as well.

Sounds fine to me. Odds are if you keep going at the rate you're going you'll hit it first. Then again, with Tribal Chief Executive Member title on the loose, other might want to post more to hit that arbitrary goal first. So let the posting competition begin!

I was and am honored to have this title. But I certainly don't deserve it. I believe you MediumTex should get this crown. Be careful of moda0306 however. He might want to see your title and your wampum. ;)

Sadly I have lost Tribal Chief. I do hope whomever gets up to 10,000 posts gets it again though.
