If my figures are correct, It appears PRPFX is well ahead of PP in year to date returns. About 5% better.
Is it because it has less Treasury holdings and a hot sector component?

My guess, and it is only a guess, is that the silver component of PRPFX has boosted its return.

Doesn't PRPFX hold about 30% equities vice 25% in the HB? That plus the Silver probably explains most of this.

It overweights assets that do well in inflation (silver, gold, Swiss Francs). Those assets are outperforming this year.Roy wrote: Doesn't PRPFX hold about 30% equities vice 25% in the HB? That plus the Silver probably explains most of this.

That's interesting, that the assets that do well in inflation are the ones outperforming so strongly now--a year when we are (allegedly) in such a pickle of a deflation that the Fed wants to set us all sailing on the QE2.
