What is your 2011 total portfolio rate of return?

Post by Storm »

I received my Fidelity 2011 reports yesterday and calculated my total return across PP and VP accounts:

25.05%

I must admit the PP helped significantly, and I also have an advantage in that I can buy company stock at a 15% discount, so this rate of return is probably not feasible for most.

Congrats on the great year!

What percentage of your portfolio is invested in your company stock?

It was about 40% of my portfolio, but in the last year I have drawn it down to about 20% and put it into the PP.  A big part of the returns are that I'm selling company stock purchased in 2009/2010 at a 35-40% premium over the purchase price.  It's time to diversify and the PP gives me a great way to diversify out of being equity heavy.

Sounds like good plan (good timing too).

Do you plan to draw down your ownership in company stock any further?

Congratulations!  That is a great year!

My annual returns are eerily similar to those of the Permanent Portfolio.  :)
