Reform elections overall. --30 day election cycle --Equal time and money given to candidates (how? I don't know. Maybe like jury duty. You are randomly selected, and as long as you can pass basic tests, you can run. Get people from all walks of life in there) --No self funding, donations, PACs, or ...

Re: Choosing Medicare plans

Check out GoodRx. They frequently offer a drug price that is less than an insurance price and all you have to do is show your card to the pharmacist. Prices at several stores are usually shown: Walmart, CVS, Walgreen's, etc. Go to one of the stores that offers an injection service. As I recall, I go...

Re: Would you wear a mask?

"Way too complicated for me. " From the second paragraph from aquinas, there is no duty to obey an abuse of power. There can even be a duty to disobey. Neither sleepy Joe, nor any of the 50 governors have legitimate authority to impose their superstitions. In the same way that they cant impose a fa...

Re: Would you wear a mask?

Do yoy feel the same way about wearing a mask in your home if you lived in Santa Cruz and your govt required it? I mean you could sell your house and move to a neighboring county I guess. Is it narcissistic of me to ignore my government’s edicts inside my own home? Where exactly is the line between...

Re: Would you wear a mask?

It's the flagrant narcissism that pushes my buttons, not just on mask wearing, it's more on people choosing on their own to not follow As a Christian, don't you have any problem passing judgment on other people as "flagrant narcissiists"? I think Jesus had a few things to say about that. I know it ...

I have a good friend who is subject to this too much iron in the blood thing. It is a really big deal. If you’re prone to it, don’t underestimate it. Always good to know if you’re one of those who are.

I went to the Rutgers / University of Massachusetts basketball game on Saturday (held at the latter's campus). I was quite surprised to see that we were all required to wear masks when inside. There seemed to be 100% compliance. I heard one event staff person say to someone during the game ....."ke...

Rode Amtrak Northeast Corridor the other day. Noted without comment: the announcement included, “If we see you’re not wearing a mask, the first time we’ll ask you to put it on. The second time, we’ll ask you to get off the train. That’s only happened once in 10,000 trips…” On the outbound trip, I n...

Mountaineer wrote "i.e. the rock is Peter’s confession that “you are the Christ”, not on a sinful Peter." Yes, Jesus chose the sinful Peter to be the Rock of his Church. He did not choose andrew, james, or any of the others. This suggests that the Jesus' designated the rock to be a single, unique i...

Mountaineer, thank you for your contribution. Reminder of the Solas is helpful, as they are not named in the Scriptures, nor in The ecumenical councils. You probably already know this, but there are 5 solas we Confessional Lutherans (and many other traditions) hold to be true. They are a whole package and 1 should not be pulled out of context - e.g. faith alone.

Ok... So it's more accurate to refer to the creeds you listed as partisan Lutheran creeds, as opposed to the historic document/creed from the council of Nicea. In a postmodern sense of commenting, whatever. I tried to answer your question. If that’s not sufficient, feel free to do your own research...
