Happy Easter!
Well, shiver me timbers, I'm really surprised Ad Oritem hasn't posted one of those pretty mosaic things celebrating Orthodox Easter. My understanding is this is when Jesus was allegedly crucifixed after Passover which was The Last Supper (where the golden chalice that holds the secret to immortality was used -- oh snap, that was an Indiana Jones movie...). That seems worthy of respect because it was a very cruel and inhumane thing to do, even for a non-believer. I believe in many things but the crucifixation was definitely a pivotal moment in Western civlization. Whether it literally happened or not, it literally changed the world. That is impressive.

Re: Happy Easter!
The gap between the Western and Eastern Easters is usually much smaller. I guess in a year where the Western Easter is extremely early (like this year) means the Eastern Easter will be extremely late, leading to the enormous gap. Five weeks!

Re: Happy Easter!
Since no one else has mentioned it, the bunnies predate Jesus, MG. They were a pagan symbol of fertility. But how in the hell did all that get turned into bunny rabbits, colored eggs and eating ham???![]()
Eggs, too.
Ever wonder why Christmas trees are the kind of evergreens that you normally don't find in the middle east but instead in Europe and North America? Same deal.
