Zika Virus

The virus is spread by mosquitos and has just reached Houston, Tx. Should we be worried? Is this another overhyped ebola scare? Should I cancel my cruise through the Panama Canal?

It just made it to Dallas.
City officials are acting aggressively. Their first step was to announce a mosquito bounty program. Lots of skeeter hunters out this morning.
The City of Irving has also invited Ahmed and his family back to town to work on a high tech solution to the problem. I hear that the device he is working on involves taking a flyswatter and putting it in a pencil case.

My thought re. should you go on the cruise:
Clearly state problem, goal, situation. Investigate and understand the significant relevant facts. What are the risks, probability, and consequences. Analyze. Clarify expected benefit. What can be done to reduce the risk? Is it practical? Assess benefit/risk ratio. If "reasonable" ratio, go for it and don't look back but have a process to understand new facts and be ready to incorporate as needed.

It was definitely a case of not enough iodine and possibly too much fish oil. Or a combination of both.
Oh, it's now being spread by sex so is that a problem for anyone here?

If a person is born with the desire to have sex with mosquitos, then they have nothing to be ashamed of. As long as the mosquito consents, of course.
