World War III: Russia vs Turkey / ISIS

Post by MachineGhost »

Is this all just sabre rattling over long-held grudges or the very beginning of World War III?

A quick history lesson that I found interesting:

Islam conquers Constantinople in the 1400's.

Russia annexes Crimea from Turkey in 1783.

Germany gives Turkey battleships so they can specifically attack Russia during World War I.  Revenge is sweet!

Whoops, Turkey, the loser, gets carved up into Lebanan, Saudia Arabia, Iraq and Syria.

In 1939, Turkey annexes a Syrian province.  Syria refuses to recognize the annexation to this very day.

Recently, eastern Syria has broken away from al-Assad and is claimed by Turkmen tribes.  Yes, this is also where ISIS is.  Yes, Istanbul supports both!

Russia starts bombing the Turkmen tribes and ISIS in eastern Syria.

In revenge, Turkey shoots down a Russian jet in eastern Syria.

No Turkish apology forthcoming, Russia implements Turkish bans, Turkish sanctions, plants long range air missles in Syria and sends Moskva off the course of Syria to protect all Russian jets.

Like a sore loser, Turkey begins a blockade of all Russian naval vessels.

Russia then orders the mobilization of military reservists.

Here we are!

Unfortunately, Turkey is a member of NATO even though they're really not qualified to be so under Ergodan.  Ergodan is a RIFFF sympathizer and was/is profiting from ISIS running oil via tanker trucks from ISIS-controlled territory into Turkey.  Emphasis on was.  The U.S.-coalition bombed those convoys once "discovered".  Then the Russians bombed a "humanitarian" convoy from Turkey that was actually full of weapons.

Also, why is it that Obama/McCain/Graham are supportive of Turkey and their defense of ISIS?

Let's hope this doesn't spiral into WWIII.

I can't imagine any winners in that mess.

WW3 started in September 2001 if not much earlier. We are losing by the way. Obama is on the wrong side as are most "progressives" aka liberals and Democrats. Libertarians are the well meaning patsies who are just plain wrong and would be dangerous if there were more of them. News at eleven.
