What's forum features don't satisfy you here that you want to start a G+ community?

I'm spread out on too many "platforms"... FB, Twitter, G+, LinkedIn. One more discrete forum to check become an added burden. I know about the RSS feeds here, but it's not two-way, so it's not really good...
There's no such thing as a Twitter "group", FB sucks, I reserve my LinkedIn for my real job, and I like the usability of G+, and am in several Communities there, and they work well, so why not a PP Community on G+?
I'd maybe relent if I could subscribe to an RSS feed of Gyro that excluded "Other Discussions", because I find I waste too much time wading through junk to find the pearls I want. That would reduce the pain level of sifting through too much crud to a point where I might not bother doing anything.

Like Ad Orientem I too feel old, even in my early 30's...Besides, aren't most of us on here libertarian introverts? Never touched facebook/linkedin personally, I don't think I even know how to social network

+1 I don't do any social networking online. I think it's just an engraved invitation for invasion of privacy.Mike59 wrote: Like Ad Orientem I too feel old, even in my early 30's...Besides, aren't most of us on here libertarian introverts? You guys are kidding about not being on social media, right? FYI, I'm in my mid-50s.

Absolutely serious here. I run a blog, but I use a pen name. That's as close to social networking as you are going to get with me, unless you happen to wander into the Quarterdeck on a Friday afternoon around 5:30 or so.ochotona wrote: You guys are kidding about not being on social media, right? I like GooglePlus. If I goes away, I just move the content elsewhere, probably LinkedIn. No biggie. I back it all up.

Must be the multiple column format in Google+, but I have never been able to wrap my head around it in the few times I've tried to use it. I like linear, drill down to the topic, and give me a single topic list forums like this one.

Re: PP on GooglePlus
Not at all. Social networking is so high school. It's for children and adult-children with the attention span of a gnat. 40 is the new 30 and all that jazz. Here's a great reason to avoid it: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-31710738ochotona wrote: You guys are kidding about not being on social media, right? FYI, I'm in my mid-50s.
And I resent your remarks about what a waste of time "Other Discussions" is. Are you getting conversations of that lofty calibre on your social networking sites?
