Carl Jung's Archetypes

Post by sixdollars »

Just wanted to post and see if this forum tends to attract certain types more than others (my guess is that it does).  For example, I heard that Jacob's ERE blog tends to be seen as INTJ-central.

For the record, I'm probably an INTJ... what are you?

Also INTJ.

And I intuit that it would probably be the most prominent type here, though I could be wrong.

INTJ too. We're highly over-represented here because we're antisocial long-term-planning quantitative systems thinkers--exactly the sort to think intensively about money and investments as systems that can be understood, optimized, and maximally exploited. The world is better for people like us than frankly it ever has been, mostly at the expense of the Guardians and the Idealists, IMHO. See also:

Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant.

This forum is definitely overpresented with INTJ Rationalists...  in my view, they tend to downplay "liberal sentiments" and go for the gnarly Curly (of City Slickers) approach to life, which can come across as mattter-of-fact selfish or self-centered.

I'm an exception to the rule.  I'm a INFJ Counselor Idealist.  And I'm sure all these doggone blasted INTJ's suspect it! :D

I do wonder what types stone and Reub are.  I've got Reub pegged as a Guardian; no clue on stone.

I want to revisit this again someday, because if I recall correctly, I am similar to you in that J/marginal close to P.

As I get older, I feel like I'm leaning slightly closer to P.

Interesting!  INTP here.  So far we are scoring 100% with the "INT" part at least!

Funny
Also INTP
The difference between the P and the J is planning isn't it ?.
You should expect a "J", however I think the "P"people can accept better the fact that the future is unknown which is quite essentail for the PP philosofie.

Interesting summary of the differences between INTJ and INTP....

INTJ though the J is almost 50/50 with  P.  Long range planner who is not detail oriented,  loves introspection of self, and but plays well in social situations (though of my goodness people are exhausting :)

I forget which exact type my wife is, but she is also a long range planner(though very detail oriented) which makes planning with her fun.  We were completely ready for our wedding 1 month before, and barely did anything the last fewmonths before thatas a example :D

Finance and IT forums both tend to be full of IN types, with the occasional E, so not surprising we are mostly IN's here :)

ENTP here, with 100% N and the rest not as pronounced.
My wife is an INTJ, an especially rare type among women.

Guardian - ISTJ - describes me quite well.

All four letters are definitive for me, i.e., not being close to any of their alternative letters. In other words, have hardly any ENFP in me.
