The Bundys, Cattle, Tortoises, And Heavy-Handed Feds
I'm not sure of all of the details however I heard today that the Feds, armed to the teeth, have released the hundreds of cattle that they took from the Cliven Bundy and his family. It seems that a lot of good citizens along with Fox News and other legitimate news sources have caused the Feds to back off of their heavy-handed land and cattle grab. They actually had snipers hiding in the background and had previously tazed Bundy's daughter. It turns out that they have caused the deaths of thousands of their "protected" tortoises in the process of this land grab. Something tells me that these thugs are not done.

Reub look at it this way: if this turned into another fiasco complete with deaths at the hands of the government it would certainly not do anything good to Obamas popularity or the dems in general with an upcoming election. So the feds almost had to blink.
You can be sure they have patience and are not done.

It was good being the party of Robin Hood. Until they morphed into the Sheriff of Nottingham

I have not read every detail of this, but on the surface it sounds to me like neither Bundy nor the Feds are saints in this situation. However, the tortoise story is laughable. When there's this much government attention, follow the money.

Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts”? directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts”? solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities”? on “public lands.”?

[Reid] and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert.

Apparently the rancher paid the grazing fees for years before stopping. The story put forth was that it was a result of conflict with the BLM as a protest. I'm not sure how much the fees are, but he may have been better served to have paid the fees and left them with no legal recourse to remove him from the land. I don't see the Bundys winning this fight, even though I agree with parts of their argument.
I will say, I do love anything to expose government thuggery. This looks like a good opportunity for that.
