How to Invest like a Cockroach:
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/how-to ... 2014-02-10
The article covers the "all weather" portfolio which has many elements of the PP, but has a slightly broader range of assets and the allocation percentages have been tweaked off of the 25% PP (adds more bonds, some from emerging markets, and has a bit less commodities and stocks).
If nothing else its an interesting variation of the PP philosophy. I don't think it actually outperforms the PP over the long term however.

Based on what I gather from the article, this basically looks exactly like the PP, but just with a different name. Where does it talk about emerging markets and the other tweaks?mortalpawn wrote: How to Invest like a Cockroach:

Just Google "All Weather Portfolio" and you'll see the breakdown.

Re: MarketWatch Article on How to Invest Like a Cockroach
I think this article was linked on here before. It sounds very familiar and if I remember right, there was some sharp criticism of the author for basically plagiarizing HB's ideas and trying to pass them off as his own.
Trumpism is not a philosophy or a movement. It's a cult.
Re: MarketWatch Article on How to Invest Like a Cockroach
I wrote the author, Mr. Grice, a polite but pointed e-mail asking if he was aware of HB and his work but never got a response. Some people have no shame.TennPaGa wrote:Yup. Old thread here.

As usual with these guys, there was no attribution at all, leaving readers to think that it was Mr. Grice's cleverness that came up with this brilliant strategy, rather than some research assistant stumbling upon it and figuring that Mr. Grice's readers wouldn't be clever enough themselves to figure out that this whole piece was a repackaged ripoff of someone else's thinking.
Imagine if the book that Craig and I wrote had been titled: "The Permanent Portfolio: Rowland and Lawson's Long-Term Investment Strategy." It would be unthinkable to me to write about Harry Browne's work without giving Mr. Browne credit.
