T-Bill ladder vs Debt Ceiling

Post by nwagers »

With the apocalypse coming today, I started to wonder how my T-Bill ladder is going to be processed. I have it set up directly with TreasuryDirect as a ladder with 4 week bills. Does anyone know what will happen if (when) we hit the debt ceiling? Will it just cancel the ladder and hold it in CofI? Will they continue to process as normal?

Thanks

TDs reinvestment FAQ says:
TreasuryDirect: FAQ wrote:Note: If there is no security available for reinvestment with an issue date that coincides with the maturity date, type, and term of the maturing security, the scheduled reinvestment will be canceled and the proceeds of the maturing security will be deposited to the maturity payment destination you previously selected.
