Film Recommendation
For those who haven't seen it, I highly recommend Ken Burns documentary on Prohibition. I just watched the whole thing in almost a single sitting (three parts). It's available on Netflix and it pops up now and then on YouTube. I think it should be required viewing for every student in High School.

Re: Film Recommendation
Maybe one day they will make a documentary about the era of pot criminalization.
I think that the most astonishing thing about that documentary will be the number of people who were locked up and the vast infrastructure that was created to simply deal with people inhaling smoke from burning a plant.
As I've noted before, the current era of pot criminalization (which seems to be starting to crumble) is in many ways like a Star Trek episode it is so bizarre when viewed from a distance.
Perhaps that documentary will list the total estimated number of years that all people spent incarcerated purely for pot-related offenses. I'm sure it will be an incredible number like a million years or something like that.

Re: Film Recommendation
Did it touch on the distribution of poison liquor as way of curtailing alcohol consumption?
That always seemed like an especially dark chapter in the history of Prohibition.
