Marc Faber's PP

Post by Stunt »

I know Marc Faber can be a polarizing figure but I still look at his perspective now and again.

25% equities
25% bonds
25% gold
25% cash
25% real estate

Marc Faber : "I would have 25 per cent (of my investment portfolio) in equities, 25 per cent in bonds, 25 per cent real estate, 25 per cent gold and 25 per cent cash," "I know it doesn't add up, but I have now the accounting standards of US Treasury." - in the australian

Maybe he uses leverage to get the extra 25%?

Could that portfolio be calculated using historical mortgage rates as the leverage?

Marc Faber is an entertainer, but he's a good one.
Q: “Do you have funny shaped balloons?”
A: “Not unless round is funny.”

Just found the asset classes and allocation amount interesting.
Wonder if he pulled them out of thin air or if he is familiar with PP

There is no way he doesn't know about the PP.  Last year he was talking about holding RE, Stocks, Cash and Gold if I remember correctly.

The problem is, as a perma-bear, his allocation changes as he's proven more and more wrong.  The guy is a joke and not worth listening to.
