Free money!

Post by Wonk »

I find the "other board" largely worthless with the exception of crowd-sourcing a few things.  I found out about PenFed this way.  I decided to finance a new vehicle (I usually prefer paying cash) and PenFed is offering 1.49% for 60 months.  I couldn't believe it.  Lending for 5 years below the rate of inflation sounds good to me--it's almost free money.  Even better, their 5/100K extended warranty(bumper to bumper, $0 deductible) looks like a great value and can be wrapped into the monthly payments.  If you are in the market and have great credit, this is a fantastic vendor.

If you like free money and other things you should check out the fatwallet.com forums. I read a free WSJ every morning thanks to that forum.

Hah, yeah I am actually quite disappointed with the quality of reporting most of the time. The Opinions part is especially god awful. They usually boil down to this:

I mostly just use it to stay informed on any mega-deals that are occuring.
