'Everyone in US under virtual surveillance' - NSA whistleblower
The FBI records the emails of nearly all US citizens, including members of congress, according to NSA whistleblower William Binney. In an interview with RT, he warned that the government can use this information against anyone.

Re: 'Everyone in US under virtual surveillance' - NSA whistleblower
I just had dinner with an NSA guy during storm Sandy. We were at a wedding during storm Sandy and he kind of opened up to me when he found out that my mom is an NSA "alumnus". (She doesn't talk about it). He just assured me that they're not spying on us all. Damnit! :-)
(Mom has been out for many decades, though).

They are always eager to point out that all they do is COLLECT information.

Haha, yes! And this guy went a bit further by saying that if you're not doing anything wrong, you're not going to have too much data collected off of you. Ah, but how do they know I'm doing something wrong until they start listening?MediumTex wrote: I've talked to guys like that as well.

I wonder what would happen if I went to an NSA facility and told them I was there to take a look around and see what they were doing. If I told them that they shouldn't be concerned about me looking around if they weren't doing anything wrong, I wonder how they would react.dualstow wrote:Haha, yes! It's always humorous how the state NEVER wants to be subject to the same standards it applies to the people it is monitoring.

Does anyone think this originated with the Patriot Act or earlier? My bet is on earlier. At this point I just assume all my electronic communications are monitored.

The PATRIOT Act was the beginning of a secular bull market in government surveillance, though the surveillance apparatus has always been there.RuralEngineer wrote: Does anyone think this originated with the Patriot Act or earlier? Speaking of surveillance, you can see what Google thinks about you by clicking on the following link:

They used to think I was 64 year old male! They are much closer now.

They assumed I was a 65+ year old male as well. I'm currently 25 but when you're looking up politics and gold on google, they start questioning who you are hah.melveyr wrote: Speaking of surveillance, you can see what Google thinks about you by clicking on the following link:
