Who Does The Government Intend To Shoot?

Post by notsheigetz »

Anybody have any theories about why the Social Security Administration would need to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point ammunition and deliver them to 41 locations in the U.S.?

I've been seeing stores like this for the past year and I hate to sound paranoid but WTF?

This was all over the right wing websites a while back. Here's the rather boring scoop. The SSA has its own law enforcement agents. And like all Federal agents they are required to spend a certain number of hours every week on the range. That eats up a ton of bullets. As large as that number sounds its a pittance compared to what the FBI uses every year.
Trumpism is not a philosophy or a movement. It's a cult.

They're planning to kill all the old people to improve the SSA's financial condition.

Who knows what they're planning?  I'll bet it's nothing all that exciting.

Wish more people would listen to Rand Paul's rather startling observations.

"Our ever-growing nanny state now includes an arsenal of unconstitutional and unprecedented surveillance and law enforcement powers. These government powers aren’t exactly subtle in action or intent. Does anyone think a government with thirty-eight armed federal agencies is kidding around? They’re not. They mean business.

Your business.

Everyone understands that some federal agents must be armed. But most Americans are surprised to learn that the Department of Agriculture, the Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Environmental Protection Agency all have armed SWAT teams. Why do such agencies need small armies to enforce, supposedly, mere fishing and hunting regulations? Why do we need to arm government bureaucrats to protect the environment?"

I once applied for a position as basically a fraud investigator in the inspector general's office of a federal agency.  I was notified at some point in the interview process that I would be carrying a firearm.  I got a kick out of that.

What's sort of amusing in general is that federal law enforcement is often considered the most prestigious kind of work in the law enforcement community.

Imagine that: Essentially illegal (i.e., unconstitutional) law enforcement work being considered the most desirable type among law enforcement professionals.

I worked with numerous USAF IG investigators looking into misconduct by high ranking civilian and military people (willful violation of EPA hazardous waste laws i.e. dumping toxic waste in a field, willful violation of OSHA regs i.e. exposing employees to high levels of friable asbestos, travel reimbursement fraud by a group of 6 colonels,  firing an employee for reporting life threatening situation up the chain of command i.e a whistleblower, etc)

The perpetrators were caught red handed in every case and yet every one of them got off scot free.  The USAF IG was nothing more than the "USAF Coverup Agency."  The bigger they are, the more flagrant the violation, the more serious the violation, the more they get away with.

If the federal IG is the anything like the USAF IG, you should be thankful you didn't go to work there.

Who were just authorized to be armed in recent memory.

Every federal agency eventually becomes an armed police force.  It is always done by arguments with some rational basis at the time.  BLM, Forest Service, National Park Service, IRS, all used to be unarmed.  Now instead of hiring accountants and book keepers, the IRS is also hiring combat personnel and snipers.

In addition to leading the world in prisoners per capita, and in military spending under the direction of our commander in chief, we also lead in armed police under the direction of the prime executive to make certain we follow the law or end up a prisoner or dead as circumstances dictate.

It looks like all of west Texas is on the "Do Not Kill" list.

That's a nice feature of living in an otherwise boring place.

Other than the panhandle?

I see wide open spaces in Wyoming, Nebraska, North Dakota and nearly all of South Dakota and Montana.  Does that past safety mean future safety?  Or does it just mean they haven't gotten around to hitting them there yet?

When I see evidence like this, and when I learned that atrocity by government is and has always been the standard, NOT the exception, it makes my stomach churn.

It also provides greater appreciation for the founding fathers and the wisdom and knowledge they had.  It didn't turn out perfect.  I wonder if it was possible that they could have done any better?  In any case, I know it's pointless to blame them for any mistakes they did or didn't commit.  The ball's in our court now.
