Market Timing Threads...

Post by craigr »

I've seen more and more posts about market timing in this area of the forum and there is a new policy about it:

Anything the mods think is market timing related will be moved to the Variable Portfolio section. This includes any discussions about the Permanent Portfolio that implement market timing on top of it. It may also include messages that discuss market timing inside of a thread where the original poster is not asking for such advice.

This is the Permanent Portfolio forum. The Permanent Portfolio does not use market timing.

Please understand that I do not want this section of the forum filling up with posts about market timing the Permanent Portfolio. It runs counter to the philosophy of Harry Browne and the Permanent Portfolio. That philosophy is to not time the markets with money you can't afford to lose.

Please do not discuss market timing in this section of the forum. You are welcome to do so in the Variable Portfolio section. As a reminder, the Variable Portfolio is held outside the Permanent Portfolio for money you can afford to lose.

If your thread has been moved already you are not being singled out, I'm just trying to clean things up but I won't be able to move all posts/threads. But going forward this rule is going to be enforced.

Thanks for your understanding.
