Ecclesiastes 11:2
But divide your investments among many places, for you do not know what risks might lie ahead.
Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. (king James version)

Many years ago, 1968 I think, the Harvard Lampoon did a parody of Time Magazine. One of the "articles" was about a group of rich men who arranged the bludgeoning of camels so as to allow them to pass through the eye of a needle.Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Or so I recall (I was in High School at the time).
It is the settled policy of America, that as peace is better than war, war is better than tribute. The United States, while they wish for war with no nation, will buy peace with none" James Madison

Speaking of financial advisors, investment gurus, and market prognosticators:Desert wrote: But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.”? He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. (John 12:4-6)
In modern times, Judas would run a front-end load managed mutual fund, available only through trusted financial advisers.
