European Politics

Post by Gumby »

Great video of Nigel Farage lambasting the European Parliament the other day...

http://youtu.be/bdob6QRLRJU

I get the feeling that Euro equivalent of CSPAN is much more exciting than ours is.

Watching the House of Commons in the UK is certainly a LOT more entertaining than watching Congress on CSPAN.

Here is a nice demonstration of Brown getting owned by Cameron in the UK:

And a few more...

Korean Parliament fight turns into an indoor riot:

Here is the Somali Parliament meeting in Kenya.  This one has a "Geraldo" feel to it with the flying chairs:

Here is a compilation of Parliament fights from all over the world.  It's only one minute and definitely worth watching.  One of the comments suggested that the UN should organize a UFC-style parliament fighting league, which sounds like a really good idea to me.

Okay, here is one more.  This is a four minute compilation of Taiwanese Parliament fights.

The Taiwanese have really elevated parliament fighting to an art form.

As you watch the video (first of all I challenge you not to laugh), note that there are gentlemen in vests who appear to be parliament fight referees.  That's not a bad idea, but it reflects a level of organization to parliament fighting that surprises me.

There is plenty of lady on lady fighting too.  Note the "walk-by slap" move.  Nice.

Another thing I want to point out is that the Taiwanese legislators have apparently taken a few pages from the U.S. wrestling handbook.  Note the stunt of taking a picture of an opponent and stomping up and down on it.  That's pure WWF action there.

Remember -- the word "politics" is made up from two words:  "poly" means MANY and "tics" means BLOOD SUCKING CREATURES ---

HENCE - politics means MANY BLOOD SUCKING CREATURES.

Farage is back. Not as exciting as his previous performance — which pointed out how the EU has consistently replaced elected leaders with unelected technocrats. His new findings about EU bribery in Croatia are extremely disconcerting:

The EU has basically destroyed any semblance of European democracy.
