If you liked what Yural Levin had to say, I would recommend his book American Covenant to you and anyone else interested. The book takes a mostly non-partisan forensic approach to examining the Constitution and design of our government and further analyzing how we have deviated from it.

Interestingly, his position is that the solution to our political dysfunction is all there in the Constitution, if we can return to the structure and system it sets forth, not just in technical terms, but also in ideological terms. Think of the idea of co-equal branches of government and the specific role of each.
I feel the approach he takes is like a consulting structural engineer who has been brought in to determine why a building is sagging, and how to resolve it. Very interesting read, especially in light of the past three weeks.
