Re: If
Are you talking about music at the RNC?
Yesterday I heard some Doobie Brothers (Takin’ it to the Streets), a couple familiar songs that I can’t recall, and an extended Reelin’ in the Years (Steely Dan).
RIP Loretta Swit
Re: If
Yes. Did not hear anything last night. My comments were from tonight before the All Star game started.

Re: If
The excellent music has continued you.
Right now they are playing Back in the USA. I have never heard this version but it is superb. I need to find out who did it.
This convention needed to make available their play list!
The song has always been a favorite of mine.
My favorite all-time version of it is this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyBIfgj2jrY
It also has my all-time favorite guitar solo (by Rick Derringer).
I'm still looking all over the internet and YouTube and cannot find the version of it that I just heard at the Republican Convention.
I don't think it was this MC5 version which somehow I'm not hearing ever until now and which is an excellent version:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYgy0XrYaaw
An Albert Lee version which again I'm hearing the first time and not it. Another good version.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6c2Ws5BrLg
My Twangy Guitar? Look at the guitar he is playing!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fy6PRdABlc
The original MC5 version which I have heard since it first came out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bg2jOO0Czw
Not this Jonathan Richman version which I'd also never heard and which is the weakest of all the versions here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL2Vd0R6M0I
Not this version by the New York Dolls, again whose version that I'd not heard until now. Great version. I did see them twice live.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=060jrUfF1hI
NOT this bluegrass / country style, though a good different version.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEvWPXHBOV8
A Rick Derringer version I'd also never heard. Love it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_6vAUr2Yio
Ronny and The Daytona's? Not this one, either. Though listenable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCSlPnb8DaM
Not The Lovesick Duo though they do a good job with a lot of sound from only two people.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo9fd1m2d6E
A great version by 38 Special, who again I don't think I'd ever heard previously. Also, saw them live a few times.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-6J4bZiAG0
A Springsteen version! Again, don't think I'd ever heard it. Of course, it's excellent. He's one I never saw live.

Re: If
Who is right now performing Hold On, I'm Comin'?
Is there a live band on stage?
Have never heard this version of it.
An excellent band, whoever is doing it.

I just now do see that they do have a live band playing there. Need to find out the band's name! They are quite good.

Re: If
This is them! If you read the article you will see why they sound so good.

C-Span which just has what is going on - no commentary - has had only had them on for the last 10-15 minutes. Computer speakers have been turned up.
Now to track them down on YouTube!
I'm guessing that they are getting paid no less than $100,000 for these four nights.

Quite good about the Sixwire Band plus a perspective on some other music related to past presidential conventions.

So far this is the only current video I've been able to locate of them doing covers.
It's a medley which demonstrates all the excellent vocalists they have in the band. And, their musicianship.
