Air Pods or?

Post by yankees60 »

I ask these technology related questions because so many people here have excellent responses to my questions.

Last summer before one of my softball games I found something on the field which I had no idea what it was. Turned out that they were 2nd generation Air Pods in their case.

After I discovered what they were and that my iPod mini cable fit into the case and discovered how easy it was to pair them with my Android phone ... I just recently started using them.

They are excellent. Far superior to any other bluetooth headphone or earpiece option I'd prior used on my phone.

Yesterday while using them in my car I noticed that I was only hearing my friend out of the right one. Since I was driving I did not pursue why I was not hearing them out of the left one.

I discovered why when I got into the house and after taking out the right one and attempting to take out the left one I saw that it was not there.

I immediately checked my driver's seat and then drove to where I'd been and looked at each of four places I'd got out of my car plus my trucnk. Never found them.

My choices are to just use the right one, which is okay since I only use them for talking on the phone. I'm not going to listen to music or anything else on my phone.

Other choices are buy a left one. On eBay they seem to go for about $40 or so. Or, more.

I assume others here have used Air Pods.

How do you rate the experience and the value? Which specific generation or model have you used?

Have you found any other solution which works just as well as the Air Pods but are better value, i.e.,, cost less or better battery life?

These are by far the best I've ever used for hearing the other person talking plus everyone says I am coming across quite clearly to them.

I ended up spending quite a bit of time on this.

I first read these two articles:

https://www.amazon.com/ospublishing/sto ... nkCode=bov

The 5 Best Earbuds

https://www.amazon.com/ospublishing/sto ... nkCode=bov

The Best Bluetooth Headphones With Microphones

Then I just did my own search on Amazon.

I found a lot and reads many, many reviews. After my falling out of the ear experience I was leaning towards something that would not fall out of my ear.

I ended up buying this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09SL ... UTF8&psc=1

MOVONE Bluetooth Headphones Wireless Earbuds with Wireless Charging Case Digital LED Display 72hrs Playtime Deep Bass Sport Earphones with Over Earhooks Built in Mic Sweatproof in Ear Headset for Gym

It was quite inexpensive and after a 20% off coupon materialized the final delivered cost was only $21.09!

I am. though, still interested in any of your experiences with any of Apple's Air Pods. I may either replace the left one I seemingly lost yesterday or buy a new model if one of you can provide with compelling information as to why I should.

And, because I cannot control myself when it comes to inexpensive purchases, I also just bought these (with this time a 10% off coupon materializing at checkout):

My latest update on this was that yesterday I was shocked to find on Craigslist a pair of Air Pod Pros for sale for $80 only about 15 minutes from my house!

I bought them in the afternoon.

I pointed out to the seller that the ad had been there for a week. He said, "Yes. I started them at $150, then $120, and, finally, $80."

I got such a deal!

I already used them for over 3 hours yesterday on the phone. I was initially taken aback when I had them in my ears and I could barely hear my car running after I'd started it.

Though they can still fall out they have an extra plastic part on the end that goes into your ears which makes for a tighter fit and less likely to fall out than the regular Air Pods.

So I continue to be extremely impressed with Apple products as I own so many different Apple products. Except for never having owned one of their computers since I consider them to be terrible value compared to Windows computers.

Stanford had iMacs in the dorms, with only one mouse button and no on/off switch, in the 90s. Never forgive never forget.

Thanks Vin I'll try the TOZO at the gym. Masks no longer required since last week. Thanks benevolent government!
