RF Speaker recommendation?
I first bought these in June 2012:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001 ... UTF8&psc=1
When they were no longer holding a charge I bought a replacement last July.
I may not have bought them if I'd realized that the batteries were replaceable. I thought they were irreplaceable like all our beloved Apple products.
They are a great product. I use them when away from this computer and I want to hear what I am playing on this computer (or TV in this room) when in the other parts of the house, the garage, the basement and anywhere on my property outside.
I never listen to any music on them. It's always some kind of spoken word broadcast.
I'm looking for their SPEAKER equivalents so that I can be listening to something on this computer while I am in the shower or doing anything else in the bathroom or any other times I cannot be wearing the headphones.
Again fidelity is NOT the main priority. The main priority is how far away from the base unit I can get the sounds in the speakers.
I'm looking for either a specific recommendation or what type of search I should be doing on Amazon for something that would fit my needs.
In the search I did do almost everything seems to be Bluetooth oriented -- to be broadcasting from a phone and NOT from a computer or TV.
I want a setup somewhat similar to the headphones. It has a base unit. The headphones are on the base unit now and getting its batteries charged. The base unit plugs into either the sound out of this computer or the TV and broadcasts a signal to be received by the headphones.
It seems this speaker(s) would need to be RF rather than Bluetooth for me to broadcast to them from either this computer or TV? I'd also prefer that the speaker(s) have a similar source of power that gets charged by some unit and NOT require either separate batteries or something that needs to be plugged into AC.

Re: RF Speaker recommendation?
My computer is old. I'm quite familiar with computer technology but NOT telephone technology. Which is why I've been lately asking all these questions here.
I was going to ask a followup question here as to whether I could add bluetooth capability to this computer via USB.
Then as I was typing the above I remembered I just ordered this yesterday which is arriving tommorrow:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DF ... UTF8&psc=1
ASUS USB-BT500 Bluetooth 5.0 USB Adapter with Ultra Small Design, Backward Compatible with Bluetooth 2.1/3.x/4.x
I bought that out of the discussion I intiated here regarding using a computer keybaord and monitor with my phone.
Will that device then do what you suggest above? Allow me to now broadcast bluetooth wireless to bluetooth speakers?
Thanks for the suggestion. Lately I've been researching so much for various functions that I'd completely forgotten about yesterday's order.

Yes. That should work.
I purchased this speaker a few months ago and it has excellent sound for the price:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DMMG7QY
Thank you!
Looking at it fits the criteria I was telling a friend last week of how I go about buying something for which I have little knowledge on what to buy.
I look for something that has at least a 4 star rating and which has a lot of reviews.
This one would attract me on three levels:
1) 4+ stars
2) 17,528 ratings
3) Amazon Choice
Plus you gave a personal testimony / recommendation for it.
On the basis of all of that I was going to buy it.
However below it stated that there was a newer model available.
https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Speake ... le_ce?th=1
It had the same 4+ stars but "only" 555 ratings
So I decided to buy it instead. When I went to buy it somewhere a $5.00 coupon materialized. So I will receive on Tuesday after paying a grand total after tax of $47.80!
Thanks again for the specific recommendation. Made life much easier for me in this quest to catch up with all this telephone style technology.

Re: RF Speaker recommendation?
Hah, I have those exact Sennheiser RF headphones. I use them every day for taking the TV audio with me when i do chores.
I just don’t have good luck with Bluetooth audio. It cuts out on me all the time. Maybe interference from adjoining homes?
As for speakers, I use TV Ears which I got from Hammacher Schlemmer, because it is also non-bluetooth. (i have an AYL brand bluetooth speaker that I never charge, because even when new, it would just cut out). I don’t think this speaker would suit your needs because it needs line-of-sight transmission, but I love it.

In my case ... both would always be stationary. I always would have the headphones to us when I am on the move. And, the signal does go in and out when I am outside and on the move and a fair distance from the base unit on this table. But better than nothing.

I just looked at TV Ears from Hammacher Schlemmer. Everything seems to be headphone oriented? I did not see any speaker options other than a Sound Bar that go with it?

Re: RF Speaker recommendation?
Ah, it must be discontinued, or at least no longer carried by that company. A shame.
I have a speaker. You can plug headphones into the speaker, but I never do.
• plugs into the wall
• simple dial for both power on and volume. no remote
• Meant to sit near you when you're watching TV, so you can reach the dial
• enhances vocal range over other sounds so you can hear dialogue.
So again, not what you're looking for, but pretty cool.

Re: RF Speaker recommendation?
1. The USB device to enable Bluetooth on this computer arrived yesterday.
2. The speaker arrived today.
Both phone and this computer are now paired with the speaker (plus the phone and computer are now paired).
I have successfully played the sound from both the computer and the phone to this speaker!
Took little time to do all of that. I spent by far the most time trying to unsuccessfully register the USB bluetooth device with ASUS. It was absolutely impossible to read the tiny, tiny, tiny serial number printed on gold!
I had no idea this speaker would be this small but it plays loudly with excellent sound quality. Exactly what I wanted in terms of getting sound from my computer wirelessly to an external speaker.
So ..... '"All Hail MangoMan for the sound, effective advice!"
Now that I have bluetooth capability on this computer I can further pursue another topic I brought up --- using this computer keyboard (or some keyboard) and this computer monitor on my phone!
