Preferred Crypto Wallets/Services?

I’ve gotten a couple messages from BRD (Breadwallet) that my meager holdings are going to have to migrate to Coinbase next week.
Is Coinbase something I should stick with? Is there something better, or is everything just going to be subsumed into Coinbase.

Kind of a shame. I really liked the BRD app, even though it’s crashing on 1 of my 2 devices.
