Political Discrimination as Civil-Rights Struggle

When a sample of nearly 1,500 female Ivy League students was asked whether they would date a Trump supporter, only 6 percent said yes (after excluding the small minority of the sample who support him). So finds a survey of 20,000 university students that the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) conducted in 2020. While people are free to discriminate however they wish in dating, this attitude bleeds into problematic spheres such as hiring and social toleration.
This reveals the predilection among many young elite Americans for progressive authoritarianism, a belief system that justifies infringing rights to equal treatment or free speech in the name of the emotional “safety” of historically marginalized race, gender, and sexuality groups. In this left-modernist worldview, conservatives’ resistance to racial, gender, and sexual progressivism mark them as moral deviants. As Millennials take power, this generational earthquake is set to shake the foundations of the cultural elite to its core, leading to pervasive discrimination against, and censorship of, conservative views.

Another sampling of young people I recently heard of showed that a majority had a favorable view of socialism and an unfavorable view of capitalism.
I don't know if there was an actual plan in place to undermine and destroy the whole social fabric of American or not but if so, it has succeeded quite well and we are seeing more than just signs of it everywhere.
I'm going to have to read my friend John Derbyshire's book "We are doomed".

I'm intrigued by Vinny's new found interest in dating.
Is there something you're not telling us, Vinny?

Not at all!
Was passing it on those here of a certain political persuasion to see the consternation over this expressed by a publication such as the National Review!

Do you not share any of the consternation or are you just having fun seeing what conservatives really think?yankees60 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 3:27 pmNot at all!Mark Leavy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 2:51 pm I'm intrigued by Vinny's new found interest in dating.

I do not share the consternation. I was not seeking fun in passing it on. Was passing it for informational purposes. I think I already have a good idea of what conservatives think.
I have a ton of contact with conservatives here. Know many in person. Hear many of them on C-Span. And, read some books written by conservatives.

Re: Political Discrimination as Civil-Rights Struggle
"No Trump supporters' is one of the most common things I see in female profiles on dating apps (along with nose rings and cats), so this is unsurprising.
The poll about not wanting to date Trump voters:This has very little to do with a general reluctance to go on dates with political partisans. While the FIRE survey didn’t ask about dating a Democrat, Pew broached this question to single Americans in 2019. Among all female college graduates under age 30, 91 percent said they would date a Clinton supporter but just 17 percent said they would date a Trump supporter. Among their male counterparts, 90 percent would date a Clinton supporter but only 33 percent would date a Trump supporter. Spencer Case argues that those who politically discriminate are acting in precisely the same manner as those who justify prejudice against Muslims or Jews.
When I consider how much of a fuck I give about whether a gay or lesbian would date me, I find it's none. No fucks. Yet they're almost 30% of the respondents. Now, why would Pew oversample homosexuals in a poll about political dating? And why would their article about it, written by their Research Associate, who "tweets about survey methodology, race, gender, and LGBT identities", not mention anywhere that 30% of the polled were homosexuals? It's ALMOST LIKE they were being intentionally misleading. Misinforming, if you will.Data in this report is drawn from the panel wave conducted Oct. 16 to Oct. 28, 2019. A total of 4,860 panelists responded out of 5,887 who were sampled, for a response rate of 82.6%. This includes 4,458 from the ATP and an oversample of 1,429 respondents sampled from the Ipsos KnowledgePanel that previously indicated that they identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual (LGB).
I doubt the author even bothered to look at the Pew poll. He probably saw it quoted on Twitter (speculative). If one of his claims, investigated basically at random, is stupid, how much of the rest of it is? I don't feel like going through the whole thing (thanks for posting links to your sources, Eric. Do better.) But I would comment that if he feels so strongly about having his civil rights discriminated against (he's Canadian, so he doesn't have the same rights Americans do, but still), he should do what the black people did back in the 60s and boycott the companies/universities that are fucking with him. Blacks boycotted buses, he can boycott Twitter and Facebook. I'll bet it was a lot tougher to walk everywhere in Alabama than it is to just not log on to a couple websites, or not work with/give money to people that hate you.
You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.

Seeking clarification...
Were the females wearing nose rings and favoring cats? Or, were they not interested in males who wore nose rings or favored cats?
From what I've gathered of you...I suspect it is the former?

Re: Political Discrimination as Civil-Rights Struggle
Among Millennials...Males own cats at a far greater increased rate (about 42% more) than females do than their increased rate of dog ownership (about 16% more)!

I could see that. Millennial males are a unique embarrassment in their own right.

Still looking for something more broad than what I just posted...but since so many here are interested in $$$$ in all ways...this is an interesting one of the demographics of $$$$ spent on pets:

This one should amuse you!
http://wwbp.org/blog/personality-profil ... ial-media/
Summary
The findings across both studies related to cat people agree that these users are more neurotic (the tendency to experience unpleasant emotions easily, such as anger, anxiety, depression, and vulnerability) and introverted (a reserved, reflective personality, which can be perceived as aloof or self-absorbed) than the general population.
If comparing the two groups, both experiments strengthened the findings from previous work [5]: cat people are more neurotic and open to experience, while dog people are more conscientious, extraverted and agreeable.

Re: Political Discrimination as Civil-Rights Struggle
I TOTALLY understood it! And, I would have assumed high cat ownership among women and much lower for men. So the above greatly surprised me.
