The two US parties

Inspired by posts in the coronavirus thread.

I have contended since Trumps election that he destroyed both parties. He certainly destroyed the power structures.

Even if the Dems win this time, their future is going to be fractious. And if they lose, anything can happen.

The GOP has lost the neocons. Good riddance and I don’t think they have much constituency among the public. Their constituents are arms companies and international big businesses. The GOP has picked up a lot of blue collar people. But post Trump, who can say? Especially if they lose this election.
