What Would Tyler Durden Do Today?

Post by Kriegsspiel »

Mr. Buthune thinks the use of human fat as an energy source has some potential. “There’s an interesting business model: link a biodiesel plant with the cosmetic surgeons,” says Mr. Bethune. “In Auckland we produce about 330 pounds of fat per week from liposuction, which would make about 40 gallons of fuel. If it is going to be chucked out, why not?” link
At recent prices of $1.90-2.25, that's $76-90 of gas. During the time Fight Club was set in, gasoline was $1.17 (or $1.81 in 2020 terms), but he could have used all of his work in Operation Mayhem. He wouldn't have had to deal with the luxury soap industry, which I've heard is just despicable. I wonder what Tyler could sell 300 fat-pounds of soap for on Etsy nowadays.
You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.

Today, Tyler wouldn't be making luxury soap out of purloined liposuction fat.
West Texas Intermediate - and getting paid on both ends of the deal.
