I remember watching Jo Jorgensen (libertarian) being interviewed on Fox a couple hours before the last Trump/Biden debate.

They asked her how she felt about not being able to participate in the debate because she didn't have enough votes in the necessary polls.

She replied that they refused to let her name even appear on those polls.

Fine...to start abolish corporate personhood..abolish limited liability and bankruptcy protections for managers, stakeholders, and shareholders

Also realize that large corporations like large governments have self preservation incentives as well and will quash competition nefariously....will collude amongst each other against public interests.

Things aren't so wonderful outside fantasy land.

Maybe the prospect of NOT having a 100% Democratic-controlled government. That would seriously have been the market's worst nightmare. example, with the Senate in Republican hands, an increase in the corporate tax rate back to 35% is dead in the water.

Has it always been this way?
And even within those states cities go democrat, rural goes republican. It's almost like a sports rivalry. Michigan and Wisconsin are one of the few areas where rural will go blue ocassionally.
This map will clarify things, I think. Click here and then click on "Counties" (I don't seem to be able to link directly to the county display):
https://www.foxnews.com/elections/2020/general-results

With some exceptions, this shows that this is mostly an urban vs rural thing. The map is pretty much red/pink, except where there are big cities.

I don't care if we are in a stalemate for the next four years. As long as Donald Trump disappears I don't care.

Biden has expanded his lead to more than 30,000 votes in Michigan, with a new batch coming in from Wayne County (Detroit). His current margin is bigger than Trump’s in 2016

Hard to say. Full democratic control would probably mean more helicopter money. More helicopter money ultimately finds its way into Amazon, Netflix, etc.

Realistically, today's market moves are not that abnormal compared to the last couple weeks. Could just be regular market noise.

Honestly, even if the Republicans would have won the House, they probably would have chosen NOT to have impeachment trials since the alternative would be the VP.

Yeah, I can't stand her either. The democrats disgust me as a party....but Trump needs to slither back into sewer. If Republicans runs candidate who has an ounce of integrity I'd vote for him/ her in a heartbeat. Both party's need to go back to drawing boards.

I am perfectly fine with being called one by this definition:

Liberal: adjective

--favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
--(often initial capital letter) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.
--of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism, especially the freedom of the individual and governmental guarantees of individual rights and liberties.
--favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.

As I just stated....it's a beautiful word that Republicans / Conservatives have hijacked / exploited / perverted for their own gain.

It's used 6 times in the KJV, and only in 4 verses according to this https://www.answers.com/Q/How_many_tim ... _the_bible).

I don't think any of the quotations has anything to do with how it is used today in regards to modern politics.

Any appearances of "conservative" or "conservatively"?

And, what about this outright citing of these heretical act of "socialism" by the early Christians??!!

I thought I might share something I was telling a friend last night (when Trump was still favored to win)...

"Having Trump re-elected is probably better for Democrats anyways. In the White House he would still be limited by the House. But if he were to lose, he might actually be much more dangerous. Trump has already set the stage and exposed the bias in the largest major media outlets. Not only does he have a lot of loyal followers who would feel like he was robbed, but even moderates like have changed their view of traditional "trusted media" outlets. He has certainly set the table for a successful "unbiased" Trump News Network, which was his original motivation for the presidency, that could really impact future elections."

Trump is a businessman. Businessmen always try to make sure that even if they lose, that they will still win.

Abolishing the electoral college would solve 90% of our election problems.

Kevin McCarthy, Senate minority leader, epitomizes for me the typical Republican I cannot stand.

He just states the wonderful job Trump has done reaching across all demographics to surpass the votes he got in 2008. Then he goes on to say he even surpassed Obama's in 2008.

Are so many Republicans supporters idiots, not able of the simplest critical thinking? How does it compare to Hillary's 2016? And, more importantly, how does it compare to this year Biden, so far, having 3,000,000 more??!!!

I am an independent politically but tend to vote far more Democrat because their speeches are not as filled with speciousness as are the Republicans.

Hillary received 65,853,514 votes in 2016, according to Wikipedia. Last number I have shows Trump with 67,317,893 this year so far.

Until last night I had no idea that McConnell was even older than Biden!

Him, Pelosi, Biden or Trump, and so on!

Why is our government littered with so many dinosaurs!!!???

I know that the Big 4 accounting firm of Ernst & Young forces their partners to leave at 60 or 65 years old to make room for the younger, more energetic talent. Why do not voters realize we should be doing the same in our government?

Still a goal is to get more votes than your opponent since there is a strong correlation between the popular vote and the electoral college. He would have been declared the winner last night if he'd, for once, been able to get the popular vote. Therefore, the popular votes he's received is nothing to crow about.
