Argentina: More trouble as sovereign default looms

Post by Ad Orientem »

Who the hell keeps lending this banana republic money? Seriously. Are there really that many people who have never cracked a history book?

Argentine bonds sound like a bargain to me! (obvious sarcasm  ::) :P :-\ )

According to the article, the most recent sucker-victims of serially bankrupt Argentina "accept[ed] between 25 and 29 cents on the dollar" in their latest shellacking.

And you are right, Ad, who on God's green earth would loan a nickel to Cristina Kirchner & Co., or to her heirs and successors? As the old saying goes, "fools rush in where angels fear to tread."  >:(

Sadly, its the yield-chasing behavior induced by pension funds courtesy of your friendly-neighborhood Federal Reserve.
