How's Your Air Quality?

Post by dualstow »

If you live in the States, you can go to stateoftheair.org.

My grades have room for improvement:
Ozone: F

Particle Pollution 24-hour: D

Particle Pollution Annual: FAIL

I'll play!

Where I live now:  Ozone is "F", Particle Pollution is a "C", and the annual particles is a "Pass"

Where I am going to live soon:  They don't collect data, or have incomplete data.  The case, apparently for many areas.

Thanks ns3, I was about to check. I'm about to step outside and breathe it in. I love Pinellas!

F, C and pass for me in semi-rural Connecticut. Clearly there is no place on this scale for a place like Beijing! Hmm... F, B and pass for where I will be in NYC in a couple of years.

Same as Barrett (F, B, Pass).

I found the particulate score almost too good to be true though.  The old buildings around here, including my own, burn the same heating oil as steamships (#6).  They're supposed to phase it out over the next 10 years.  I guess the fact that we're surrounded by water and wind is always blowing off the Hudson helps.
