If the Permanent Portfolio Were a Game

Post by dualstow »

What would be the term for having all four assets above breakeven? I want something I can yell out, like Yahtzee!

I'm way down in gold, but the value of my treasurys dipped above the breakeven point again as they sometimes do. That means I have three out of four assets in the black. There should be a term for that, too.

The baseball analogy still works. First base, second base, third base...home run!

Now I'm waiting for someone to say "Bingo".

I think we need a new term, though.

You've been permanated.

That is going into my spelling dictionary.
And into my daily cash-flow spreadsheet as soon as I figure out the right google doc functions.

Holy Shit!!!  ;)

I crown PS the winner for originality, though!

Well, my fault for saying "Like Yahtzee." I grew up with that, Monopoly, Parcheesi and Mille Bornes. Great mispronouncable French terms in that last one. Coup-fourré!

Permanated is hilarious!

I kinda think of it as Zugzwang in chess..  but unlike chess, you don't have to make a move in investing if you don't want to.
