Entitlement in America is much more dangerous than terrorism, communism, etc. It will destroy the United States.
We need to provide plenty of opportunities for people to educate themselves, work, and improve their families and communities.

Do  you agree with that statement?

I think communists are economic terrorists that are teaching the population it's entitled to the money of anyone wealthier than them. So it's kind of like lumping all three together in an unholy trinity. :)

I agree that entitlement is probably more dangerous to the United States than terrorism or communism, but I don't think it's caused primarily by a lack of opportunities. We have more opportunities in America than most people in the world.

The entitlement is caused by a combination of (a) decades of unprecedented prosperity and (b) the gradual erosion of morality from our culture.

Church attendance is at an all-time low, and our mainstream media and educational institutions openly ridicule and criticize religion. And we wonder why recent generations in America have grown up selfish?

Without religion, what is one's motivation to value service to others over the pursuit of money and self-gratification? Young minds are impressionable, and if you don't train them in the ways of proper morality at an early age, they instinctively focus on self.

I am almost a Millennial Generation. Do you think we can still get Social Security when we turn 75 or 80? Is Social Security an entitlement?

Depends.....when you're paying in it's theft of your wages......when it's being paid to you it a bribe to support the theives and form a voting block.

No one is "entitled" to someone else's labor...that's slavery. There is no trust fund. You're not getting back what you paid in, it's gone. You're getting paid what was taken by someone younger and quite possibly poorer.

If it was about returning what you paid in back to you then why can't I just opt out and keep it as I earn it?

Depends on your definition of "entitlement". When some people use the term, they are talking about government freebies like welfare and food stamps and don't consider Social Security to be an entitlement because it was designed to look like a pension system that people pay into and thus "earn" the benefit. In the strictest meaning of the term however, it IS a government benefit that one is entitled to by law and thus an "entitlement".

Will it be there for you when you retire? I would say it is up to you and your generation whether you want to change and/or eliminate the system as it currently exists.

I agree that it's up to them to right the wrongs of their parents and grandparents. It will be a fight to outvote those who feel they are entitled to the labor of others because outsourced theft is very attractive. It's going to be impossible to outvote the SS block because it's been united by and large with the public sector union and welfare mooching block.

The system will have to collapse ponzi-scheme style. Hopefully the adults that experience it aren't foolish enough to re-start it.

It's a good exercise in showing that the so-called deficiencies of the younger generation are really what their parents and grandparents dumped on them. So much for respect your elders.................
