Where Is Malaysian Flight 370?

Post by Reub »

It's been over a week since Malaysian Flight 370 mysteriously disappeared. So where do you think it is?

Latest news is that the pilot calmly said good night to someone over the radio (tower I guess) AFTER the transponder was turned off.  This makes hijacking most likely.  So the plane is safely on the ground somewhere awaiting some terrorist purpose.

"Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think that you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong." --Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

Planes don't just disappear in this day and age.  That tells me that the facts being given to us in the news aren't true (which I hope wouldn't surprise anyone here.)

I predict the news will keep reporting new bits and pieces and draw this out as long as it can until everyone is tired of it.

Whatever happened or didn't happen, our govt will use it to grab more power.  It will move ships into militarily strategic locations under the guise of searching for the phantom plane, require heightened "security" (privacy violations) for travellers worldwide, more no-fly lists, increased scrutiny of passports, body scanners, bag searches, etc.
In a world of ever-increasing financial intangibility and government imposition, I tend to expect otherwise.

Isn't it a 9/11 truther?

I don't think anyone denies 9/11 occurred.

Interesting perspective from a pilot:

http://www.wired.com/autopia/2014/03/mh ... ical-fire/

He thinks there was an electrical fire that shut down communications and eventually overcame the crew with nasty rubber smoke, possibly caused by the front wheels bursting into flame after takeoff due to the hot exterior temperature and long taxi, and that the pilot tried in vain to head for Palau Langkawi, the closest major airport with a reasonably safe approach.

PS that is a really reasonable conclusion except for the part where the pilot said good night to the tower AFTER the transponder was turned off which makes it sound like whatever happened was planned.  Perhaps he wrote it before that info was known.  Or he could be correct and the pilot saying goodnight after faulty information (who knows if everything we hear is correct).

Or it could be that the transponder had already been disabled by the fire, but not enough damage had yet been caused to alert the pilot and crew to the fact that there even was a fire. If the transponder was disabled by the fire, then the pilot said good night, then all communications were lost, that supports this guy's theory that there was already a fire, because killing all communications would be them switching off all the breakers in an attempt to extinguish an electrical fire after they discovered the problem.

I think Occam's Razor works pretty well. I'm going with fire and major malfunction that disabled aircraft communications and caused it to crash, unfortunately.

PS sorry for posting the same info twice, I had forgotten.

No and there was no Benghazi stand-down order.

What difference does it make? (To quote your sig.)  ;)

Let's just keep using Occam's razor here, which I disagree would select the hypothesis that news reports everything accurately, that the plane crashed as a result of an on-board fire, while not being tracked by radar and while no wreckage has yet been found.  ::)

This article sure sounds like a pilot trying to protect his own profession, especially when he called the 2 pilots heroes, even when he has no proof of that.

Honestly, I don't have a clue where the plane is.

Yes. Most of the movers and shakers in the Truther movement later became founding members of the Birther movement.

Really?  I pictured most of the "truthers" as Rage Against the Machine fans, while most "birthers" seemed more like Hank Williams, Jr fans.

Where is Flight 370?

We are all in the Matrix and Flight 370 did not exist.  It was just a hiccup in the space/time continuum that made us momentarily think it did.  But then again, space and time do not exist either.  Our consciousness paints the universe into being (William Bray)  :)

And the accompanying theory is, this plane will next be used to fly to that nuclear shindig conference of world leaders in The Hague and crash into their hotel.

Don Lemon has made some laughable comments of late.
I'm sorry for those who were on this plane, but despite myself I look forward to more "Lemon zingers."

So what's the latest on the missing plane?  I rarely watch or read mainstream news so I don't hear anything about nothing.

Judging by the plane's flight path, I like the theory that it got hijacked or attempted hijacked, then everyone became unconscious at high altitude, then dove to low altitude, and then the autopilot leveled the plane out and flew until the gas ran out and it crashed into the ocean... somewhere.
