I'm playing catch up in the gold investing part of a PP. (Also the other three categories but one thing at a time!) Is there a glossary of gold investing terms so I can answer some of my own dumb questions?

Have you read the gold FAQ on the crawling road blog?

Re: Glossary of gold erms
Definitely read the FAQ. While there are some interesting terms that would fill a glossary, like seigniorage, reading a glossary would take you down the wrong path. It would be like studying a foreign language dictionary instead of learning the most-used phrases from a native speaker.
There probably should be a wiki, and come to think of it, that's probably what you meant. The FAQ pretty much meets that need.
After that, a lot of threads here in the gold section should answer most or all of your questions.

Re: Glossary of gold terms
Thanks for the responses on the glossary question. I have only read the Gold FAQ once. It clearly calls for more readings since there is such a wealth of information there. I'll be doing that but in the meantime was looking for some interpretation on abbreviations and initials in the current forum discussions.
Like everything else important, I'll figure them out a step at a time. I look forward to getting a very good education from this forum and its members.

Re: Glossary of gold erms
Most of the abbreviations I came across were ETF and gold-related tickers, like IAU, PHYS and GTU.
Re: Glossary of gold erms
when i was starting out i found Google to be a invaluable tool for terms, acronyms and ticker symbols,
my browser lets me highlight the word i don't know, right click, and select, search Google for "highlighted", but even if you need to do it the long way and cut, copy and paste to search, the definition will almost always be in the first two or three results..
