Looking back:
1970's-6,8,10% annual inflation.Big annual wage increases.Savings and Loan bust.Off the gold standard.Nixon's wage and price controls and his WIP buttons-whip inflation now.
General Westmoreland just about got me killed.
1980's-Long bond hit 14%.Prime rate hit 20%.Mortgage on my office building was at prime plus two percent, quarterly adjustments and it topped out at 21.5%.Paul Volker.1987 stock market
down 22% in one day.
1990's-can't remember,lol.I was drinking.
2000's-dot com bubble and crash.Housing bubble and crash.Uncle Ben.
Looking at Craig's chart of the HBPP over the last 41 years, the low drawdowns and nice returns are remarkable.Maybe this time will be different ?
Just thinking back.
