Zerohedge

Post by buddtholomew »

Even for a curmudgeon like myself, zerohedge and its persistent negativity is enough all ready. I have decided to no longer frequent the site as I believe it has a negative impact on emotions and general well-being. The world is imperfect, get over it! It is what it is, whether we choose to believe it or not. Anyone else reach a similar conclusion?

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! Good for you, budd.

Yep... I asked about ZeroHedge here several months ago and someone described it as "Doomer Porn" which is perfect.  I rarely go there anymore, although it was ZH and similar sites that prompted me to question my investing non-strategy which eventually led me to the PP and this site.

Nice work, Budd! You won't regret it.

Me too. I stopped reading it about two years ago and have been much happier ever since. ZH is designed to stoke people's emotions and belief systems — as well as their investments. (The PP is agnostic on the other hand, which is a much more balanced way to live).
Nothing I say should be construed as advice or expertise. I am only sharing opinions which may or may not be applicable in any given case.

Good for you!  I reached the same conclusion about 18 months ago.  That site is the http equivalent of cancer.

Thank you all. I deleted my bookmarks (iPhone and laptop) and am working to erase the site from memory.
