I'm ready for some rebalance therapy. If it would go down a bit more, I will buy in.
The nagging question is, how will I feel if I'm buying in yet again when & if it goes well under 1000?  :-\

I guess some people actually thought that the government was going to stop spending a trillion dollars more than they brought in by taxes. Otherwise it's pretty hard to explain the move today.

Anyway, yee haw!

Not a bad day for the PP in general, either:

Libertarian666, what is your rationale for holding GDX? I have a 5.5% allocation to the ETF in a VP and am trying to determine whether to hold the asset class given my already substantial investment in GLD.

I think you must be confusing me with someone else. I don't have any GDX.

My sincerest apologies. A member of this forum is invested entirely in GDX and GLD, but I don't recall their username.

And yet another day of the PP beating both the SP500 index and a 60/40 portfolio... ;)

I'll say it's a good day!  According to Yahoo Finance, my holdings in VOO are up 100.46% on the day.  Should I be happy that my stock fund is beating its index, or unhappy that it's not tracking terribly well?  :-P

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, but VOO had a share split today, so the share price doubled, but the number of shares you own dropped by 50%.

Sounds like a reverse split, right?

He generally knows about these things.
Next week?
Or perhaps after dropping to 750 for 13 years?

That's what I want to know.
I'm pretty sure you're just being facetious here, but I don't think we'll ever see $750 gold again.  However, anything close and I'll sell the farm and load up.
Getting closer...

Did anyone else grab any gold today? Seemed like a good day so I pulled the trigger on some coins. Hopefully they get here instead of being lost/stolen like all of my other coins that I don't have.

For the past few days, my google calendar has shouted at me, "Buy gold?"  I keep dragging the same event one day forward.

Do you use a signature delivery from a big coin dealer or a local coin shop?

Or are these lost to Davey Jones locker?

Not exactly a scream, but so far this year, so good:

And surely a lot better than the stock market this year. Somehow I don't think we'll be seeing too many gold bashing threads on bogleheads any time soon at this rate...
