"Spitting on Their Graves: Democrats Leave Benghazi Hearing Before Testimony From Families of Victims"
From the article:
"During the second portion of a House Oversight and Government Reform hearing about Benghazi Thursday on Capitol Hill, the majority of Democrats on the Committee left the room and refused to listen to the testimony of Patricia Smith and Charles Woods. Ms. Smith is the mother of Sean Smith, an information management officer killed in the 9/11 Benghazi attack. Charles Woods is the father of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, who was also killed."
Just Wow!

The scandal! The shame! Those filthy democrats. Let's just keep stirring this pot....It gets everyone all hot and angry and makes for great media but serves no purpose other than to further radicalize either side of the political spectrum.
I don't know all the circumstances but Im damn sure not going to get worked up over this nonsense. Honestly, nothing that goes on in Washington really surprises me anymore. My expectations from this Congress are so low that if they all showed up for work naked and conducted animal sacrifice while burning the American flag in effigy it would still fail to get a rise out of me.

Re: Wow!
These posts in response to the "event" are a good example of how divided this country is getting. If the media has their way they would probably love to generate a second civil war in this country. I mean, think of all the money such an event would generate. People would be glued to the news stations for 24 hours a day as Americans slaughter each other in the streets.
I’ve dropped several old friends. The cognitive dissonance of attempting to establish bonhomie while thinking ‘you voted for that fraud?’ ‘you support that liar?’ became too much of a mindf**k.

At age 65, I no longer even pretend to like or tolerate liberals. I just disassociate myself from them.
I have completely severed ties with several liberal friends from high school in the mid-60’s, because they never grew up from being drug-addled hippie types. How one can be a seasoned, senior adult and still believe that liberal crap is beyond me.
And I won’t even address or be in the same room with a couple of my wife’s relatives because they are liberals that spout off their praise of Obama all the time. I finally said enough is enough. It is not worth my well being and peace of mind to put up with their drivel anymore.
My personal life is so much better without having to deal with these liberals. Now if we could only get rid of them in our institutions and local, state and federal governments where they are creating havoc for everybody else, the world would be a much better place too.

This is PERFECT to go after the Democrat brand. Is there any organization to produce a commercial:
Have DEMOCRATS NO Shame?
The Parents of American heroes killed defending fellow Americans deserve more than to have DEMOCRAT politicians abandon a hearing designed to let the grieved parents express their feelings on the loss of dear loved ones.
Why are these DEMOCRATS so cold and heartless? Why are these DEMOCRATS behaving so selfishly? What an embarrassment these DEMOCRATS are to our nation.
---------------------------------
Democrat low life at work!!! Military & Foreign service public servants.....do you see clearly how the Democrat party vermin honor your service??? The lack of caring and compassion starts right at the desk and feet of “SATAN”?, POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama!!!
----------------------
Yeah I want to know. Words are inadequate to describe and define these people. Ditto for the (majority of) Democrat voters that will excuse this affront to human dignity.
And some people can't understand why I despise liberals so much. I am getting to the point in my life where I don't even want to associate with extended family members that believe in the perversity that is liberalism.

This group of slugs is the result of gerrymandering and extremely radical bases. There are no centrists and free thinkers anymore because those qualities wont get you elected. In most congressional races the districts are drawn up to be so slanted towards one party or the other that your only challenger will come in the primaries from your own party. Therefore, in order to appeal to your party base and get elected you must grow increasingly radical.Kshartle wrote:I don't think anyone would get a rise out of that group of slugs naked.doodle wrote: The scandal! The reelection rate is something north of 90% and the approval rating is below 10% I think.doodle wrote:This group of slugs is the result of gerrymandering and extremely radical bases. He or she tickles their ear and promises them goodies. They just can't understand why the rest on Congress is focused on giving out goodies to other people and not them.Pointedstick wrote: Every seems to hate Congress, but they all mysteriously love their own congressmen.
Does anyone think it's good to have people elected to hand out goodies? All the goodies have to be stolen so you've got 535 people trying to steal from the same group of saps, keep some for themselves and hand the rest out to their buddies.

i think that they are all at their best when they "accomplish" nothing. And that includes the Prez.

The problem is they've been breaking shit for so many decades that now we have some serious issues to fix. If we did manage to elect "do-nothings" for the next 50 years I'm not convinced that all of the structural issues that have been baked into the cake by our maliciously incompetent leadership will work themselves out.Reub wrote: i think that they are all at their best when they "accomplish" nothing. In principle I agree with you, but that's starting from a point where we have a functioning country. I don't think we qualify, or at the very least the trend is not positive and there's nothing in the pipeline to change the trajectory.
Re: Wow!
At what point was our country functioning optimally, and during these periods (if they ever existed) was this a result of what anyone did, or just the advantageous circumstances of the united states in that particular moment of the worlds history? If I look at the past, I can't seem to pick out any particular time in our country when people didn't think that things weren't falling apart or that something needed to be fixed. In terms of our economic dominance in the world that seems to be more related to the relative advantages the united states had in comparison to Europe or Asia or Africa. Those relative advantages have started to disappear and so it only feels like we are slipping whereas in fact we are just being caught up with.RuralEngineer wrote:The problem is they've been breaking shit for so many decades that now we have some serious issues to fix. Looking at human societys development over a long time span, I simply see a trend whereby a species is beginning to adapt to a new reality. Biologically speaking, humans evolved to live rather independent lives in small wandering groups. Cooperation with other humans on a large scale was not necessary. Whereas bees or ants evolved to function effectively in groups of millions of individuals, humans never evolved like this. Suddenly, we are finding ourselves within a world that resembles more of a bee hive or ant farm. Our wolf pack mentality however clashes with the bee hive circumstances and so in order to function effectively we must either stop trying to live as bees, or properly evolve so that our nature doesn't clash with the reality of hive life and require us to impose a bunch of laws and regulations to ensure our survival.
So, the primary problem as I see it is that our modern world is out of tune with our evolutionary nature.

Re: Wow!
That ant farm, bee hive analogy got me thinking. I wonder how ants and bees get along so effectively in large groups. Do they fight and squabble among each other? Do they kill each other? Do they have hierarchies where certain ants are obligated to perform certain functions. How do they decide who does what? What do they do with those ants or bees that don't behave according to the rules of the hive?
Also, If you were to take an animal such as monkeys or wolves that more closely resemble humans and put them in an area with approximately the same density as that of ants and bees, how would they behave? How would their society look? Would it be peaceful or violent?
