I just put in a plug-in that did this. For some reason I thought it was activated and never checked up on it. Now it re-writes the full subject as the link.

One suggestion for members here who want to assist with the expenses associated with the forum is to click on the book ad at the top of the page when shopping on Amazon (the ad takes you to the book listing on Amazon and you can shop from there).  It doesn't affect the price you pay for anything on Amazon and it helps us out.  It's just something to be aware of if you are heading to Amazon anyway.  I think that the Boglehead site has a similar setup but it's more clearly marked over there.

I will also take this opportunity to thank all of the great people who come here regularly and create such great discussions and an overall friendly environment.  I never would have believed that it would be possible to have a forum where so many very controversial topics are discussed with almost no moderation, but so far that's what we've been able to do.

MT, Thanks for the information about the book ad at the top of the page.  I'll be sure and click on it when I do my Amazon shopping.  And thanks for all of your work and Craig's work on this forum.  Very informative, and enlightening when it comes to investment strategy.

The links on the top of my web pages only show ads for headache pills and for National Review magazine. ;)

What a great combination: National Review and headache meds!

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll definitely start accessing Amazon from the forum.  And thanks to you and craigr for all your efforts.

You don't see the book ad in the middle of the page at the top?

I often make substitutions & shortcuts in my ipod touch and on my mac. But...in light of the more recent posts it looks like I can keep typing the abbreviation "pp" here. Is that right?

I hate all the abbreviations on investing forums and all kinds of forums for that matter. It's laziness, and newbies have no idea what people are typing about. PP, however, is one that I think everyone can accept.

Another quick suggestion:

It would be helpful if after posting a reply it would not jump back to the forum index but to the forum post to be able to review it again. Especially helpful if you want to be sure your special formatting went right.

And another:

Did I already mention that there is an unnecessary "Modify" under posts which you can't click on, only the top ones?
