They're a right-wing news site, and as such, any online poll they display that shows overwhelming support for a right-wing cause (even one I agree with!) is likely to need several very large grains of salt taken with it.
Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant.

The "poll" was online and open to anyone clicking onto the website of the Telegraph, which is one of Britain's main conservative papers. Over there they don't even pay lip service to journalistic neutrality.
