Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jeff Beck (89, and I think the last tour before SRV's death)
Pink Floyd (Division Bell tour, Clemson's Death Valley Stadium, 94). That was by far the best show I've ever seen, and at 35 bucks, a ridiculous value for the money. Really an incredible experience.
Van Halen (Reunion tour with David Lee Roth). At $165 this was by far the most expensive show I've ever attended.
Just recently I saw Robin Trower (old British Blues guy). That was a very good show and one I'd recommend if you get the chance.
MT, I also saw U2 during the same tour you mentioned. Quite memorable.

Eagles, 2008 in Chicago... sounded EXACTLY the same. They even did a lot of Henley's and Walsh's solo stuff. Amazing.

Okay, I'm not a name dropper and I don't know anyone famous, but I have to pass along this experience I had.
My old house in Dallas was a few miles from Don Henley's house. You couldn't even see his house from the street and he is a very private person so the fact that he lived there wasn't something I thought much about. So I'm driving down the street in the area where I lived one day and I see this old guy with orange hair walking with a little girl. I knew it had to be him (the hair looks pretty wild in person). I immediately stopped and acted like I was lost and wanted directions. For about 15 seconds, he was just relaxed and talking to me like we were a couple of strangers. Then he sensed that I might have recognized him and he put on the "blank" face and he was pretty chilly for the rest of the conversation (I don't blame him, he just wanted to be anonymous).
When I told my wife about it she said she wouldn't have been able to be cool about it. She said she would have started singing "Dirty Laundry" the second she stopped the car.
Q: “Do you have funny shaped balloons?”
A: “Not unless round is funny.”

I saw David Byrne a few years ago and that was a great show.
I saw Tom Jones in the 1990s and I got to see the ritual of women throwing their underwear on stage (LOTS of underwear). However, the fact that the median age of the panty throwers was about 58 made it less exciting than it might have been in about 1971.

Agree on David Byrne. Saw him at a music festival they used to have in Atlanta, awesome show. Wish I had seen the Talking Heads.

I saw Al Di Meola Saturday night. It was quite an amazing performance and I highly recommend him if you are at all a fan of technical guitar work. The venue he played at was pretty small which made it all the better (I really hate the large venues and all the hassles that go along with them).
Although Di Meola plays mostly acoustical now, he really puts on a show. He did bring out the electric guitar toward the end of the show for a great version of "Race with Devil on Spanish Highway".
