Usually skin issues like that have an underlying (internal) cause, such as certain disorders or allergies. I used to have a similar problem — dry bleeding hands during the winter. For awhile I noticed that certain hand soaps (with SLS) exacerbated it. But even when I eliminated SLS I still dry, cracked and irritated hands (bleeding, etc).moda0306 wrote:This reminds me, I've been meaning to start a thread about skin cracks and how to get rid of them. My fingers look like the grand canyon right now.
Changing my diet fixed the problem. For me it was reducing grains to a bare minimum and preparing them properly when consuming the occasional grain. I don't have celiac disease, but modern wheat is full of gluten, mycotoxins, molds, phytates, and lectins — all of those are toxins that can promote inflammation in the body through various pathways (leaky gut problems, etc). A lot of skin issues start in the gut.
Anyway, you can search for various creams or ointments, but they will never fix the underlying cause. I don't want to redirect the thread, so feel free to start that new thread if you want to discuss.
