I agree that as long as you are generally trying to eat "real" foods you're definitely headed in the right direction. No need to be perfect all the time. Just do what you can and enjoy your life.
Since I lift weights, the way I approach it is to generally have 6 days of compliance and 1 day off to eat carbs or junk food (workout day). That's 85.7% compliance. 90% would be much better, but I just can't be bothered with the anal-retentiveness of eating 5 meals a day so that I can take 3 of them for the "day off".
Incidentally, as I have trouble putting on muscle mass, it turns out that one only needs to add a fistful of starchy carbs, grains or fruit to the meal rules I described earlier. That should put in perspective the difference between being a diabetic fat ass and a healthy lean weight.

First off, how often are you eating out that the availability of grass-fed meat in a restaurant is a serious concern?
Secondly, any assertion that occasional deviation from grass-fed meat to grain-fed due to availability will have a substantial impact on your health or longevity I find very suspect. Regardless of what we eat, I think portion control would resolve a significant amount of our food related health issues in America. Most of us have VERY sedentary lives, by human standards (compared the previous 200,000 years). Eating 4,000+ calories and sitting on your ass every day is going to have negative effects, regardless of what those 4,000 calories are comprised of. I say this as a person who eats too much and works in a cubical farm.
