Post by rhymenocerous »

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the site?  It's been down for me for the last two days I think.

It's not working for me either.

Maybe it got some wind and/or water damage from the storm.

Guys I know are heavily involved in Internet infrastructure and they are telling me a lot of big data centers in that region were flooded. Even if the data center was OK, the generators, etc. were often in the basements so power is likely not working.

This forum is hosted out of California so it is unaffected.

I believe in investing forum geographic diversification to protect against these kinds of events. ;)

Wouldn't you want redundant hosting in London, Zurich, Perth, and Hong Kong as well? :)

From https://www.facebook.com/Bogleheads

The Bogleheads Forum is offline at this time. The server is in New Jersey and in an area that has lost power due to Hurricane Sandy.
