I Was a Teenage Randroid

Post by MachineGhost »

Did it make sense to glorify the proletariat while loathing my working-class neighbors? Actually, in a sad way, it did. As I was soon to realize, the human brain has a staggering capacity for batshit-crazy paradox — and in particular, a form of batshit-crazy paradox that was, and is, earthshaking in scope.

Objectivism.

Interesting that the author is so troubled by how he was a Rand devotee when he was a teenager, but he seems far less troubled about the fact that he was a devoted Marxist. That 'cult' is seen by him as a more acceptable one to have been a member of, despite all the death and destruction that it has caused.
