buying in Amazon.com...
I have a noob question
. I live in Singapore, and I wish to order something in Amazon.com and send it to a friend's house in U.S. Will it work well if I order and pay for it here via paypal, then ask Amazon.com to send the thing to my friend's house? Is Amazon.com reliable for online purchase and delivery?

Re: buying in Amazon.com...
They may get cagey about sending stuff to an address that is not registered to the credit card. But otherwise they will send to a third party address most of the time if the credit card transaction goes through.

Amazon doesn't accept PayPal AFAIK and usually you need to have the shipping address on record with the credit card company if it is different from the billing address. Amazon does provide for separate billing and shipping addresses.Coearth wrote: I have a noob question. Try it. Worst case, something goes wrong and they give you a refund. You'll get the refund though.

When I send something to an address other than my own, I just mark it as a gift. I just have to re-enter my password and credit card info. (As a security precaution, stored credit card information cannot be used when using alternate addresses). Shouldn't be a problem.

One thing to note...
Amazon is not the only seller on Amazon.com. Watch for the "Sold by" note.
Amazon tries to screen other sellers, but sometimes there are still problems. I had one push a charge thru amazon payments 9 months after I had ordered. The credit card had expired, I was no longer using that card, they started charging me interest as soon as the charge showed up, etc. Amazon did refund the charge, but I had to deal with the rest of the mess.
