Best Book Cartoon...
The new book features cartoons by a very talented illustrator, Chad Crowe (www.chadcrowe.com). Chad has done illustrations for major publications such as The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. Chad did the illustrations, but Tex and I came up with the concepts/punchline.
There are ten of these cartoons in the book. Your challenge is to:
A) Pick out who came up with what cartoon.
B) Tell us which ones are the best so Tex and I can finally figure out who should be doing the comedy book tour.
Vote above and place your guesses on the comedic genius below....(hint: It was not exactly 50/50)

Re: Funniest Book Cartoon...
There's no index to illustrations, is there? I've seen the cartoon for each asset class by flipping through the kindle version (amazon cloud reader), but I don't think there's any text I can search for, like figure 2.1.
Even though it's not the funniest one, I really like the inflation-burning ladder cartoon at location 974. I can tell it's going to stick with me.

There is no index for the cartoons, sorry…But you can vote simply for your favorite, not necessarily the funniest….dualstow wrote: There's no index to illustrations, is there? Re: Best Book Cartoon...
I'll have to do some more reading. Haven't seen them all.
Figuring out which joke is the product of which mind is proving more difficult than I originally thought. I looked at the turban one and could picture Tex saying it. But we have seen a lot more posts from Tex in general, especially those with similes. This might produce a misleading Tex-tilt, an illusion. Reading Craig's recent comment, "Will it be Robama or Obamney? I'm dizzy with excitement!" made me laugh out loud, and now I can picture him writing the turban joke. Hmm...

Slight correction: make that "giddy with anticipation!" But I got the gist of it.I'm dizzy with excitement!

Tell you what…when we are done with this little contest we'll post all the ones we rejected due to cost issues. Here are two sketches that were put aside for the one you liked:

It is true that you have seen more of me than Craig, if post count is any indication.
There is also the matter of my previous anonymity before the book came out, which probably affected my presentation a bit compared to Craig, who has never been anonymous.

Hopefully, this will be a fleeting memory but I wish I hadn't read that story about the farmer being eaten by his own pigs today. Ugh.craigr wrote: Tell you what…when we are done with this little contest we'll post all the ones we rejected due to cost issues. Here are two sketches that were put aside for the one you liked:

I like the idea of a three-headed dog: one head each for inflation, taxes and fees.
So far, the illustrations are all really good!

"The other wears a turban" is priceless.
The evil capitalists cartoon is good, but I would find it funnier if I didn't find it so sad given the attacks on capitalism here (meaning the US but also see marxists) and abroad.

It was good being the party of Robin Hood. Until they morphed into the Sheriff of Nottingham

Don't let all the fame go to your head! Resolve not to change who you are!MediumTex wrote: There is also the matter of my previous anonymity before the book came out, which probably affected my presentation a bit compared to Craig, who has never been anonymous.

I'm just going to keep on being the change I want to see in the world.MachineGhost wrote:Don't let all the fame go to your head! Also, I didn't mean that I was anonymous before and now I'm famous; I meant that no one knew me as anything but MediumTex before, and now there is a real name that is out there.

Keep those votes rolling in. Tex and I need to get the comedy book tour going soon and we need to decide who will be fitted for the clown shoes.

The combination of the mustache and the content is so great. (Who doesn't love a funny mustache?)

Still need more votes rolling in. We need to declare a winner here...
