That coffee goes great with the vinyl covered kitchen chairs! Gag.dualstow wrote: Worst thing about the 70s: the percolated coffee.

I'm seeing David Byrne when he comes through town in three weeks.dualstow wrote: I actually like listening to disco and despite what most people inferred from a Talking Heads lyric, so does David Byrne!
It should be great.

He puts on a great show. I saw him circa 2000, or whenever he came out with that great Brazilian disc.MediumTex wrote:I'm seeing David Byrne when he comes through town in three weeks.dualstow wrote: I actually like listening to disco and despite what most people inferred from a Talking Heads lyric, so does David Byrne!

I always liked that percolated coffee commercial for Maxwell House coffee. It had a catchy tune.

I'm 99% certain that is the creation of the genius composer and inventor Raymond Scott. Off-topic for 1970s, but before there was David Byrne or disco, there was Raymond Scott. The guy created synthesizers before Moog. His most famous work is "Powerhouse" which you would recognize from Warner Brothers cartoons and a zillion commercials (and a Rush song) as soon as you hear a few seconds.Reub wrote: I always liked that percolated coffee commercial for Maxwell House coffee. In this particular clip, I would change "a few seconds" to: you'll recognize it at the 1-minute mark.

Xan's clip is Looney Tunes.
